Slippery Slope Chalet is a short-term rental property in Killington, Vermont, operated by Slippery Slope LLC. This policy explains what information we collect through slipperyslopevt.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short on purpose — we collect very little, and we do not sell any of it.
We only collect information you give us directly, plus basic anonymous analytics:
We do not collect payment card details on this website. Any payment you make is handled by the booking platform or payment processor you use, under their own privacy terms.
Marketing emails are opt-in. When you check the box on our booking or return guest forms, you are agreeing to receive occasional emails from us. We send infrequently — think seasonal availability, foliage and ski season notes, and direct booking offers.
Changed your mind? Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can also email us at stay@slipperyslopevt.com and we will remove you promptly.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not affect emails about a stay you have already booked — we will still send you confirmations, check-in instructions, and anything else you need for your trip.
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Full stop.
We do rely on a small number of service providers to run the property and this website — for example, our email and form delivery services, our booking and messaging platform, and Google Analytics. These providers process data only on our behalf and only to provide their service to us. If you booked through Airbnb, Vrbo, or Booking.com, those platforms handle your information under their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
We may disclose information if required by law, or if necessary to protect the safety of our guests or property.
Our site uses Google Analytics cookies to measure traffic and understand which pages are useful. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on. The site works fine either way.
We keep booking and inquiry records as long as needed to manage your stay and to satisfy tax and recordkeeping obligations. Email marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, or delete it entirely. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR. Email us and we will take care of it — we will not ask you to jump through hoops.
Our website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Children are of course welcome at the chalet.
Our website is served over HTTPS, and we limit access to guest information to the people who need it to run the property. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
If we update this policy, we will change the date at the top of this page. Material changes to how we use your information will be noted clearly.
